By when do I need to place my cake order at the latest?
Ordering Our Cakes
Cakes from our regular selection in standard sizes (serving 10, 12 or 14 people) should be ordered no later than 12 noon the day before collection. Orders can be placed by email at conditori@laglace.dk, by phone at +45 3314 4646, or in person at our shop in Skoubogade. If you require a cake on the same day, we invite you to choose from the selection prepared for sale in the shop.I would like a sign on my cake

We advise early booking, as we close for new orders once our capacity is reached. Fully booked dates are published on our website.You may secure a future order by paying a cake deposit of DKK 2,500 for a specific date. Please contact us via email. The deposit will be deducted from the final invoice. Should you cancel in good time, the deposit will be refunded as a gift voucher.
We wish to order a wedding cake
We accept wedding cake orders no earlier than four months prior to the wedding, though we recommend contacting us sooner via email at conditori@laglace.dk. We close our order book for specific dates once we have reached our practical capacity, and these dates are listed on our website.It is helpful if you have familiarised yourselves with our styles and decorations beforehand – you can do so on Instagram under #LaGlaceBryllupskage. You are also welcome to email us an image of your dream wedding cake, if you are unsure whether we can meet your wishes.
The ordering process for a wedding cake is as follows:
- Initial consultation: If there are more than four months to the wedding, we offer a brief meeting of approximately 15 minutes to provide practical and financial guidance and for one of our experienced cake ladies to assess whether we can accommodate any specific requests. This meeting does not include detailed planning or tastings.
- Cake deposit: You may pay a cake deposit of DKK 2,500 to reserve your date. Please contact us by email. This deposit will be deducted from the final invoice, and in the case of timely cancellation, it will be refunded as a gift voucher.
- Planning meeting: You may book a planning meeting, including detailed design discussions and tasting. This can take place no earlier than four months prior to the wedding and will be held with one of our experienced cake ladies.
Final order details and payment must be received at least two weeks before the wedding.

Can I make a table reservation at La Glace
We do not take table reservations.
There is always a hostess at the door ready to assist you in finding a table and to advise on any possible waiting times. On busy days, you may find a queue outside the confectionary, but there is no need to be deterred by this. We have approximately 110 seats inside, and as our guests come and go in a steady flow, waiting times are, in most cases, quite short.If your party consists of 8 to 14 guests, we recommend reading about the possibility of booking our Guest Salon.

How do I best store my cake until it is ready to be enjoyed?
As a general rule, all layer cakes should be kept refrigerated until they are ready to be served. If you do not have access to a fridge, or if you have ordered a large cake (serving 20 or more people) and do not have access to a commercial refrigerator, please follow the guidance in this video:
If this solution is also not feasible, we recommend contacting us for further advice. We are always keen to ensure you get the greatest enjoyment from your purchase.
All ice cream cakes can be stored for up to 8 hours in the box provided, and should be taken out 30–45 minutes before serving, depending on the size. (Please see the guidance on the side of the box)

How should I best handle my cake during transport?
Please note that the following guidelines are general and for guidance only. If you have any doubts whatsoever, do not hesitate to ask a member of our team.
IMPORTANT: On warm days, it is essential to take extra care when transporting cakes that require refrigeration.
Your journey is under 1 hour and the outside temperature is below 15°C:
- If travelling by car: Ideally place the cake in the boot (trunk). The car floor is also an option, but be mindful that the cabin may warm up. Never place the cake on a seat (as it will tilt and slide) or on your lap (as body heat may damage the cake). Refrigerate the cake immediately upon arrival.
- If travelling by bicycle: Transporting cakes by bicycle is problematic for many types of cakes. If no alternative is available, we recommend purchasing one of our special bags and cycling with the cake bag held carefully in your hand. Baskets, panniers, or cargo bike trays are unsuitable for carrying cakes. Refrigerate the cake immediately upon arrival.
- If travelling on foot or using public transport: Carry the cake horizontally, ideally in one of our specially designed cake bags, and keep it as cool as possible. Take care to keep the cake away from heat sources and do not place it on your lap, as body heat can damage it. Please note that transporting cakes by bicycle is problematic for many cakes. Refrigerate the cake immediately upon arrival.
If your journey is more than 1 hour by car OR the temperature is over 15°C:
You will require a cooling arrangement in the boot of the car. Please see how to set this up in this video:
Be sure to place the cake in the refrigerator as soon as you arrive.
If you need to transport your cake over a longer distance (or for an extended period) by means other than by car, our staff will be happy to advise you on which cakes are best suited to your journey.

How do I apply for an internship at La Glace?
If you are attending Primary School:
We receive many internship inquiries each year and unfortunately cannot accommodate everyone. Therefore, we allocate placements once a year (on 1st August) among applicants who meet the following criteria:- Applications must be received between 1st April and 31st June (please include all the weeks you are available for the internship, if possible).
- The application must be handwritten and include a motivation letter; in other words, we expect you to explain why you should be chosen as an intern at La Glace.
- We appreciate it if you showcase your creative side in the application.
If you are enrolled in a basic vocational programme:
The same rules generally apply as for primary school interns. If you wish to apply for more than one week, please note that placements are very limited, as we aim to accommodate as many applicants as possible. -
How do I find todays selection of cakes?
We have a core range of cakes, complemented by a wide variety of seasonal cakes. We are also committed to minimising waste, so certain cakes may occasionally be sold out. The actual selection available in the shop may therefore vary.

Can I have my cake delivered?
We deliver cakes throughout Zealand and can arrange delivery to the rest of Denmark by prior agreement. Delivery is handled by a professional transport company that uses refrigerated vehicles and has extensive experience in transporting our cakes safely and securely. The delivery fee depends on the postal code and starts at DKK 325 on weekdays (covering central Copenhagen) and at DKK 650 on weekends and public holidays, covering Copenhagen and the surrounding area (e.g. Valby, Vanløse, Hellerup etc.). The price is independent of the quantity of cakes ordered.

Where do I find parking close to La Glace?
Until 11:00 am each day, it is permitted to make a brief stop in front of the shop to collect your cake. After 11:00 am, or if you require more time than a short stop allows, we kindly refer you to parking spaces in the surrounding area, for example near Vor Frue Kirke, in the Latin Quarter, and in Snarens Kvarter. There are also car parks nearby, such as at Illum and at Israels Plads by Nørreport.

How long does a gift card to La Glace last?
In the shop, we offer two types of gift cards: One is a folded paper card, which is valid for a certain number of servings/persons. This has unlimited validity. The other resembles a golden payment card and is valid for three years from the date of purchase. The same applies to gift cards purchased via our website (these feature a small QR code for redemption as part of the design).
